A fantastic Jeff Koons exhibition has opened its doors at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel, Switzerland. Coinciding with the opening of the Art Week Basel, the Fondation presents “an extensive exhibition of the american artist jeff koons, documenting his artistic development over the past thirty years of practice through the lenses of three milestone series. ‘the new’ showcases koons’s earliest work, as he began in the early 1980’s with a series of readymade-like appliances and sculptures. ‘banality’, a period begun in 1988, includes traditionally crafted sculptures in porcelain and wood, that nonetheless take as their subject ironic confrontations between pop culture icons and baroque artworks.” His most iconic sculptures, as well as paintings are all on display and moved into the perfect light. We also love the fact that they installed some of the pieces in the gardens of the Fondation, where Koons work is a real visual interrupter. The exhibition will be on until September 2nd, 2012. Odin is showcasing its unisex fragrance line and candles with a pop-up shop on 330 East 11th in the East Village. Designed by Snarkitecture , the narrow 350-square foot space is set up to “shun the typical interpretation of the popular retail concept,” in the words of Odin co-owner Paul Birardi. The result is an interior painted all white and filled with replica Odin bottles in white gypsum cement, suspended from the ceiling and emerging from the floor atop clear rods. The visual presentation is striking (if not reminiscent of Superman’s Fortress of Solitude), displaying a stark contrast between the white environment and the black of the actual fragrances and candles. At Auto China 2012 in Beijing, Audi is presenting a themed vehicle based on the Q3 – the RS Q3 concept. It interprets the character of the compact SUV as a high-performance athlete with a 265 kW (360 hp) 2.5 TFSI engine transfering power to a quattro all-wheel drive system. The powerful 5-cylinder unit combines gasoline direct injection with turbocharging, allowing the car to accelerateto 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 5.2 seconds and gain a top speed of 265 km/h (164.66 mph). The body is lowered about an inch and is widened with sharp visual details including matte black and blue paint, brushed and polished aluminum trim and a single-frame grille with black inserts. The interior is done is blue and blue as well, framed with aluminum accents. The 20″ wheels are not exactly typical for an SUV, but certainly for an RS model. Engineered Garments step outside of their heritage influence with this video profiling the brands Spring/Summer collection. The video is by  HARRYS , and has obvious influences itself.
