Released in a limited edition of 200, and priced at £65, this special boxed edition of the Spring/Summer 2012 issue of LOVE , features Lara Stone and Kate Moss shot by Mario Testino and styled by Panos Yiapanis, which also forms part of a 32-page inside fashion story, entitled ‘Mario Testino: 30 Years of Optimism’, and an accompanying interview by Michael Holden. Each one has been hand-numbered, with 50 signed randomly by Mario Testino, Willy Wonka-style, so you won’t know if you have a signed copy until you open it! Dover Street Market already have a waiting list and this is a true collectable! LOVE’s Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand says: “Mario shot some of the most iconic images of this century. Last year was a particularly memorable one with Kate Middleton and Prince William’s engagement, Kate Moss’s wedding, Charlotte Casiraghi’s only fashion shoot and Jennifer Lopez looking hot in her first images after splitting with Marc Anthony. There’s even been a question about him on Mastermind. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him on his first project for LOVE; it’s not every day you walk into the Royal Suite at The Gore Hotel to find Kate Moss and Lara Stone yakking away in the back room.” Mario Testino says of the cover shoot: “For me it was very exciting to do the story for the new issue of LOVE. I especially liked mixing the interview with images I have taken of people at moments of laughter over the years, together with the fashion photographs I took specifically for the issue. After meeting with Katie, we decided it was a good idea to mix it all up, breaking-up the way fashion stories are usually structured.” He tells Michael Holden in the issue: “To me, the magic of photography per se is that you can capture an instant of a second that couldn’t exist before and couldn’t exist after. It’s almost like a cowboy that draws his gun. You draw a second before or after, you miss and you’re dead – not them. To me photography’s always like that, just the fact that I think of photography like that will always make you think that there was a moment before and a moment after because I like it to be… not so dead. I want the person to be there and to feel also my presence in my photographs.
