Rag & Bone is opening its first European store in London, and the label tapped Kate Moss to front its ad campaign, as shot by Craig McDean. Rag & Bone will also show during London Fashion Week during September, and from what I’m reading, the the London ad campaign and runway show are a first for the brand. As for Moss, my co-editor, SGP, and I were just chatting about her recent rise among male fashion watchers.  She’s been an icon forever and a day in the fashion world of women (to the point where it’s like, oh boy, another Kate Moss ad, cover, runway??) , but it seems over the past couple of years there’s been this uptick in interest for her by the fellas. Search through the posts on our sibling sites, where the guys post more about Moss more than we do, and check the popularity of her Supreme t-shirt to see what we mean. We have this theory that the guys who once never noticed her now find her attractive because she’s a grown and accomplished female, whose credentials as a successful wife, mom and business woman are established. Sort of how young male chimps lust after more mature, alpha female chimp ladies . Not that dudes are animals or anything (even though we all actually are), but there is something to be said about a woman whose looks are still working and who has all her ducks in line. Today we take a further look at the soon to release short film by Richard Phillips, starring none other than Lindsay Lohan. Entitled ‘First Point’ , the film shows Lindsay first surfing, then walking along a beach and sunbathing, followed by an emotionally charged night scene. On June 11th, artist Richard Phillips is premiering his short film at Art Unlimited at Art Basel 2012. The premiere is presented by Gagosian Gallery . The co-director of the film is legendary surf filmmaker Taylor Steele. Phillips and Steele collaborated with Curator & Creative Director Dominic Sidhu for the film. The score is by Thomas Bangalter, who is one half of the French Electric duo Daft Punk. The editor of the movie, Jay Rabinowitz, was also the editor for 8 Mile, Requirem for a Dream, Adjustment Bureau and The Tree of Life, amongst others. Lindsay’s acknowledged surf double is Kassia Meador, one of the best female surfers in the world. As you can see, the cast and crew behind the short film are rather impressive.
